Summary of Position:

The Shop Assistant position requires loading and unloading trucks in a timely and safe manner. Counting materials accurately on delivered and shipped items, to maintain an accurate inventory. The position requires you to work well with others.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading trucks, with truck driver’s guidance
• Pulling materials for shipments
• Counting and putting away the materials
• Repair concrete forms
• Minor building maintenance (such as but not limited to changing furnace filters, shoveling snow, etc.)
• Keeping material storage areas clean and organized
• Other duties as assigned my management

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Forklift experience
• Clean DMV record
• Good communication skills
• Ability to understand and follow directions
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good organizational skills
• Ability to perform physical labor
• Ability to count in order to maintain proper inventories

Physical Requirements/Work Environment:  
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following:

• Periods of standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to safely work with sharp tools and/or power equipment.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and terrains.
• The noise level in the work environment usually is moderate to loud
• Continually required to talk and hear
• Must have manual dexterity, a good sense of balance, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
